Amazing Grace Children’s Home began in 1999 in a small town just outside Mexico City. Dr. Leonardo and Esperanza Rivas were building a medical clinic when they trusted Jesus Christ as their Savior. When God saved them they say He changed their eyes and hearts. They saw the “invisible” children wandering the streets of Mexico City, the world’s 3rd largest city, and their hearts called them into action. Amazing Grace Children’s Home began. They turned their clinic into a home for homeless children. Today their quest to rescue children has produced an active home for up to 120 children.
The Children’s Home is committed to provided orphaned, abused, and abandoned children in the Mexico City region and beyond a safe place to live, food and clothing, a high-quality education, and a loving family. Most of all, however, they are committed to teaching each child about the love of Jesus Christ and the great salvation that is available through Him.
The Home is partnering with a local university and with baking specialists to give the children advanced classes that will allow them to pursue multiple career options.
Each child is given the opportunity to study on trumpet or violin. The Home has recently established the Academy of Music and Fine Arts in which those children who have advanced on their instruments receive professional training in music. The children’s musical accomplishments have been recognized multiple times by Mexican authorities.
Currently there is a large piece of land for sale next to the Home. This would be ideal for the children to be able to play outdoor sports such as soccer and to use for growing a garden. Please prayerfully consider making a donation to help the home make this purchase.
Pray for each child and for the staff and teachers who give their lives to raising each child.
Consider contributing financially to help support the projects the home is engaged in. You can give a one-time or recurring gift here (select Amazing Grace Children’s Home) or contact the Rodgers Baptist Church office if your church is interested in supporting the Home on a regular basis.
Rodgers Baptist Church regularly leads a missions trip to the Children’s Home to give gifts to each child and to show them that we care for them and are praying for them.
