Isaiah 26:3-4, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:”

Just because you have a cupboard full of groceries doesn’t mean that supper is going to make itself.  You have to go to the shelves and use – apply the supply – in order to eat. If your car has a tank full of gas it still won’t drive itself. You have to get behind the wheel. Start the engine. Put the car in drive and then get going. God always keeps His promises, but we must take advantage of them!

Follow the path of righteousness and peace will find you on the trail. Dear reader, we attain peace through faith. God has promised us His power, provision, and protection. It’s all there. It’s all and only accessed by faith, and faith is not some nebulous, mysterious blob floating around that either hits or misses us. We don’t accidentally fall into or out of faith. Faith is a purposeful pursuit, and it is primarily thinking – not feeling – thinking rightly about God: His attributes, words, works, power, and promises. The more we know about God the greater He becomes to Us in our thinking, the greater our faith will be in Him, the more eager we will be to rejoice and be thankful regardless of the circumstances, and the greater will be our peace for any and all situations. Let’s commit ourselves to pursue peace through righteous, obedient faith that begins with our thinking, as Scripture calls us to do.
