Where the Lord’s Favor Rests

Proverbs 3:33-35, “The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but He blesseth the habitation of the just. Surely He scorneth the scorners: but He giveth grace unto the lowly. The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.”

God’s justice is precise and personal. He does not ignore arrogance, deceit, or mockery, yet His blessing rests firmly on the home where humility thrives. Righteousness is not moral perfection but a heart posture that bows before God and seeks His way. In the New Covenant, Jesus absorbed the curse we deserved, taking sin’s penalty so we might dwell in the Father’s blessing. The Spirit now trains us in humility, turning scoffers into seekers and lifting the lowly to places of grace. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble, because pride rejects His rule while humility welcomes His reign. A humble home is marked by repentance, forgiveness, and quiet trust, not self-exaltation, but quiet dependence. That’s where the Lord’s favor settles, like morning dew.

Act today: Examine your speech and posture today. Ask the Lord to expose any pride or harshness. Replace it with genuine humility: apologize if needed, listen more, serve without credit, and thank God for the grace He freely gives.
