1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
In rapid fire succession we learn that God’s will for our lives (all of our lives) is that we be characterized by consistent joy, continual prayer, and comprehensive thanksgiving. That sounds great, but there is a problem. None of those qualities come naturally. This is why we need a new nature must be in Christ. The only way to be consistently joyful, continually prayerful, and comprehensively thankful is to be in Christ Jesus. Trust Christ to save you. Trust Christ to follow Him daily, understanding that joyful, prayerful, and thankful believers fulfill the will of God while pointing the lost to Christ.
