Love One Another
John 13:34, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”
With His self-giving love at the cross, Jesus established the standard. The command is not superficial but substantial. It is not sentimental but sacrificial, calling us to seek another’s highest good even when it costs. Such love displays to the watching world that we belong to Christ. When frustrations surface at home, church, or work, remember that the Son washed the feet of others. He loved first, loved fully, and loved to the end. Imitating Him means refusing bitterness, choosing patient kindness, and actively pursuing another’s joy in God.
Act today: Identify one person you find difficult. Pray for them by name and do a concrete act of kindness for that person before sunset.
