Faithful in the Little Things
Luke 16:10 “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.”
We often ask God for greater opportunities while overlooking the responsibilities He has already given us. Yet Jesus teaches that faithfulness begins with the little things. God is not first looking for ability or influence. He is looking for hearts that will obey Him wherever He has placed them.
Throughout Scripture, God prepared His servants through ordinary acts of faithfulness. David cared for sheep before he led a nation. Joseph served faithfully in prison before he governed Egypt. Likewise, God often uses today’s small acts of obedience to prepare us for tomorrow’s greater responsibilities.
Jesus was perfectly faithful to His Father in every circumstance. As we follow Him, we learn that no act of obedience is ever wasted.
Act today: Faithfully complete one ordinary responsibility today as an act of worship to the Lord.
