Ezra 7:10, “For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.”
We need to follow Ezra’s Example. This means that we need to prepare our hearts through prayer. Let’s ask God for wisdom, understanding, and the discernment and courage to follow His guidance (Matthew 7:7-8; James 1:5; Proverbs 2:1-6). Of course, included in our prayers must be the daily confession of our sins (1 John 1:9; Proverbs 28:13). Second, in order to follow Ezra’s example we must diligently pursue the truth of God’s Word (2 Timothy 2:15; 1 Peter 2:2; Proverbs 2:1-9). Finally, to follow Ezra’s excellent example, we must be committed to practice the truths that we are pursuing. The learning is for living (James 1:22; 2 Timothy 2:1-2). Are you following Ezra’s example? If not, why don’t you commit yourself to begin today?
