Submit to One Another

Ephesians 5:21, “Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.” 

Mutual submission is Spirit-produced willingness to place another’s interests ahead of your own. It’s not spinelessness but Christ-centered strength, echoing the Son who obeyed the Father for our salvation. In community this means listening before speaking, welcoming correction, and gladly yielding preferences for another’s edification. Such deference testifies that Jesus, not self, sits on the throne. 

Act today: Yield your preference (music, restaurant, meeting agenda) to someone else with a joyful attitude and thank God for the chance to honor Christ.
