Turning at Reproof

Proverbs 1:23, “Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.”

Correction stings, but the Lord is skillful with His scalpel. His reproof is proof of His love. Were He indifferent, we would be left to die of our own devices. Turning (repentance) is not merely feeling bad. Repentance is a change of mind that leads to a change of direction and is pivoting toward the One who corrects. The reward is stunning. An outpouring of the Spirit, divine energy to live differently. Refusal leaves us stuck with ourselves, but the right response (repentance) opens channels of grace.

Act today: Recall the last criticism you dodged. Write it down, ask the Spirit to confirm what is true, and draft one concrete change.
