Proverbs 22:19, “That thy trust may be in the Lord, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee.”

What has been made known to us that we trust in the Lord? That would be the “words of the wise” (Proverbs 22:17). We have a great treasure in the Bible. Scripture is not simply a nice work of literature, but is the very revelation of God to His creation. The Bible is God’s book for mankind, not mankind’s book about God. The Holy Spirit breathed out the Bible through human authors (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21), and the only means we have of knowing and following God is through His revelation of Himself to us. Do not neglect so valuable and vital a treasure as God’s Word. Trust with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and you will discover that God’s words are more to be desired than gold and sweeter than honey dripping from the honeycomb.
