The Grave’s Wide Gate

Proverbs 7:24-27, “Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth. Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.”

Solomon pulls no curtains back. Sin promises life but delivers a cemetery. The seductress stands at every major intersection, trading in cheap affection and expensive ruin. Her victims are not few in number. They are “many wounded.” Every generation repeats the same fatal mistake. The gospel cuts through this deception. Christ walked into the chambers of death so we would not. His cross exposed sin’s true wage, and His resurrection built a bridge back to the Father. When you are tempted, do not negotiate with the grave-digger. Turn away. The Spirit gives us eyes to see the corpses behind the smile. Guard your steps. Flee quickly. Life is too precious, and eternity too long, to trade for a moment of darkness. Christ bought your breath. Do not toss it into the pit.

Act today:  When temptation surfaces, pause and speak aloud: “This path leads to death.” Immediately step away, call a trusted friend, and ask for prayer to walk in life today.
