The Beginning of Wisdom

Proverbs 9:10, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”

The fear of the LORD is not a shiver but clear-eyed awe that God is God and I am not. Knowledge without this orientation inflates; with it, understanding deepens. Reverence is the only stable launchpad for science, art, or policy because reality answers to its Maker.
