Serve One Another

Galatians 5:13, “For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.” 

Freedom in Christ is not liberty to indulge sinful desires but continual opportunities to imitate the Sovereign-Servant, the Savior, Christ Jesus the King. Christian service replaces ladder climbing with foot washing. It dismantles entitlement and cultivates joyful humility. When chores are beneath you or someone’s need feels inconvenient, recall that the Lord of glory donned a towel. Your service becomes a living parable of the gospel that freed you. 

Act today: Volunteer for a low-visibility task—clean, set up chairs, babysit—doing it cheerfully, not drawing attention to yourself, as an offering to Jesus.
