First Priority Wisdom

Proverbs 4:7-9, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honor, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.”

Promotions, degrees, and portfolios impress, but without skillful godliness they are ornate scaffolding around a hollow core. Crown wisdom and she will literally crown you back, garlanding life with dignity that circumstances can’t tarnish. Elevate any other pursuit higher and the structure wobbles.

Act today: Write your top three goals for the summer. Beside each, jot one way attaining wisdom will keep that goal from becoming an idol.
