Proverbs 7:6-7, “For at the window of my house I looked through my casement, And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,”
Proverbs 24:30-34, “I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down. Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction. Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.”
To get wisdom and understanding about sin we must pay attention to God’s Word, and we must learn lessons from life. The wise man observed (vv. 30-31)interpreted what he observed (v. 32) and applied what he had learned (vv. 33-34). The young man from Proverbs 7 sees it, misses it, and as a result, falls foul of it. Don’t be foolish by continuing to make the same mistakes. Instead, learn lessons from life, your own, as well as the lives of others.
