Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life
John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.”
Jesus does not offer a way among many. He declares Himself as the only way. In a culture that prizes endless options and personal preferences, the Lord Jesus cuts through the fog of relativism with absolute clarity. For the believer, that exclusivity is not narrow-minded harshness but rescuing grace. Left to ourselves, we wander paths that circle back to sin and death, yet Jesus steps in as the divinely appointed bridge from alienation to fellowship with the Father. Notice His threefold claim:
- The Way: Christ opens the road we could never pave. His sinless obedience and substitutionary death satisfy God’s justice, granting sinners safe passage into the presence of holiness.
- The Truth: His Word unmasks deception. Scripture—divinely breathed out and preserved by God for us—anchors our doctrine, worship, and ethics. We do not invent truth. Truth is received through the revealed Word and the written Word.
- The Life: Spiritual life begins at the new birth and climaxes in resurrection glory. Abiding in Jesus infuses ordinary days with eternal purpose
Cherish this verse because it safeguards the gospel’s purity. Evangelism is urgent precisely because Christ alone saves. Fellowship is sweet because every redeemed brother and sister arrived by the same singular door, and worship is centered on the One who is way, truth, and life. Thus, our songs and sermons must revolve around Him. Take courage today. The path you walk is not a maze but a Person. Fix your eyes on Jesus. Trust His Word, and rest in His finished work.
