Prioritize People Over Preferences

Romans 14:14-15, “I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.” 

People are more valuable than plates. Knowledge without love destroys. Your fellow believer has been purchased by the same blood of Christ as you have been. We dare not wound him for the fleeting pleasure of a steak or a glass of wine. Liberty must kneel before the price tag God hung on that soul, the blood of His Son. The logic is simple. Redeeming love recalibrates my preferences. Never let what’s on your table negate who’s at Christ’s.
