This is the Way

Isaiah 30:21, “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”

Israel once trusted their own resources and foreign alliances more than God, yet the Lord promised grace and His personal guidance. For the New Covenant believer, that promise is fulfilled through Scripture and the indwelling Holy Spirit. When choices loom and confusion mounts, the Shepherd still whispers through His Word, “This is the way. Walk in it.” Discipleship must be built on the conviction that God speaks with final authority in the Bible. Pastors must preach verse by verse, parents must diligently teach at home, and believers must test every impulse against revealed truth. The Spirit never contradicts the Book He inspired, but guidance requires proximity and submission. We must cultivate listening hearts—daily exposure to Scripture, prayerful meditation, and a readiness to obey before the specifics are even clear. When we veer, conviction comes not to shame but to steer us back. What mercy! The same God who sets the standard supplies the direction and power to meet it. Are you facing a fork in the road, like career decisions, relational tension, ministry opportunities? Quiet the noise. Open the Bible. Seek godly counsel. Then move forward in faith. The One who saved you by grace will not abandon you to guesswork. His voice will keep you on the path that glorifies Him and blesses you.
